DERISCO Incorporated is 100% U.S. Navy Veteran owned and operated. We proudly support our brothers in arms. | The Truth About DVR’s and NVR's:Digital Video Recorders (DVR’s) and Network Video Recorders (NVR's are basically a computer taking the video inputs and recording it to a hard disk drive. The video is captured by a capture card for older analog systems and a network card for the NVR systems. Basically a VCR on steroids with no tape changes. The quality and duration of the recordings are directly proportional to the quality of the components and the size of the hard disk drive or drives. Higher quality DVR’s and NVR's use multiple 300 to 500 gigabyte hard disk drives and high quality video capture cards (DVR's). Frame Rates: The human eye sees 30 frames per second. Another deception is: Some companies advertise that their DVR’s have 165 Gigabyte Hard Disk Drives to impress you with things that do not mean anything to you. The truth is if you are recording 30 fps you might get 2 to 3 days of recording. These are deceptive marketing practices designed to prey on the uninformed and We believe this is just wrong. |
